LAHORE: The Punjab government has initiated a health screening campaign for special children, marking a significant step toward ensuring their well-being. The campaign was officially launched on Friday by Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir and Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, with the aim of providing comprehensive healthcare services to children with special needs.
As part of the initiative, several campuses have been set up with specialized healthcare professionals, including surgeons, opticians, psychologists, and ENT specialists, to address the unique needs of these children. The screening process is designed to identify and address any medical conditions early, providing tailored care and treatment.
Speaking at the event, Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir emphasized that the health screening was launched on the direct instructions of the Punjab government to ensure the welfare of special children. He highlighted the importance of this initiative in promoting inclusive healthcare.
Special Assistant Maryam Nawaz Ashiq also shared that special children would be provided with essential equipment, including electric wheelchairs and glasses, to improve their mobility and quality of life.

Punjab Health Secretary Nadia Saqib was also present at the event, underscoring the government’s commitment to providing the necessary support and resources for special children across the province.
