Punjab launches CM IT Internship Program for graduates

LAHORE(Web Desk): The Punjab government has announced the launch of the Chief Minister IT Internship Program, which aims to provide opportunities to 30,000 IT graduates in the next five years.

Under this program, selected interns will be given a monthly stipend of Rs 50,000, while private IT companies that employ interns will be provided with a monthly subsidy of Rs 12,500 for each candidate.

This program is being launched under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz and its implementation will be supervised by the Punjab Information Technology Board.

This internship program is a five-year project for which the government has allocated Rs 30 billion. Each selected candidate will do an internship for four months and gain practical experience in various fields of modern technology.

A central online portal will be created for this program, which will handle the system of recruitment, registration and monitoring of interns so that the process remains transparent and easy. Along with this, the interns will also be provided with internationally recognized IT certifications, which will increase their value in the global IT market.

The selected interns will also get the opportunity to participate in technology expos, innovation festivals and skill development events, where they will be able to present their projects and learn about the latest technology trends.

According to officials, the aim of this program is to bridge the gap between education and industry, create employment opportunities and strengthen Pakistan’s IT sector so that the youth can get both practical experience and financial support.
