Uzma Bukhari Slams PPP for Targeting Punjab Govt, Defends CM Maryam Nawaz’s Flood Relief Efforts

Punjab Info Minister Criticizes PPP’s “Race of Press Conferences,” Warns Against Personal Attacks

Lahore (Asif Iqbal): Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari strongly reacted to PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira’s press conference, accusing the Pakistan People’s Party of competing in a “race of press conferences” against the Punjab government while simultaneously claiming not to politicize the plight of flood victims.

She said that a party once led by a woman is now entirely focused on targeting Punjab’s first female Chief Minister. “Before criticizing the daughter of Punjab, you should have reflected on your own past,” Uzma Bukhari remarked.

The Minister stressed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, her cabinet, and provincial institutions have been present among flood victims since day one, and politicizing the issue is unfortunate. She warned that if personal attacks continue, the responses will also be strong in nature.

Comparing relief measures, Uzma Bukhari said, “While PPP distributes Rs10000 per household in Sindh through BISP, Maryam Nawaz is providing Rs1 million to each affected family in Punjab because that is what people truly need.” She added that Punjab’s treasury and resources belong to the people of Punjab and would be spent on them without seeking anyone’s advice.

NCCIA will re-question Imran Khan over active X accounts.

Highlighting development, she stated that the Punjab government has already constructed 20,000 kilometers of roads with its own resources, while more than 90 projects initiated by Maryam Nawaz are being funded solely through provincial funds without a single rupee from the federal government. “As Punjabis, we should take pride in these achievements rather than regret them,” she concluded.
