LAHORE: (Web Desk) – The Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority has announced the Grade 8 Assessment 2026 results, highlighting improved participation and better academic performance across the province.
According to official data, nearly 994,000 students were registered for the assessment, with around 894,000 appearing in the exams—resulting in a participation rate of approximately 90%.
Out of those assessed, 88% scored above the minimum passing mark of 33%, which authorities described as a positive sign of progress in educational outcomes.

The results also revealed that female students outperformed male candidates. Around 92% of girls passed the assessment compared to 83% of boys, continuing a trend of stronger academic performance among girls in Punjab.
Top positions across the province were secured by female students. Iqra Khan from Mianwali, a student of Danish School, secured first place. Romaisa Iman achieved second position with 358.5 marks out of 400, while Fatima Bibi ranked third with 353.5 marks.
Officials stated that the assessment was conducted using a technology-driven system designed to enhance transparency and credibility. Key features included QR-coded answer sheets to ensure anonymous marking, digital attendance tracking, AI-assisted evaluation of papers, and a centralized digital dashboard for monitoring the process.
PECTAA described the initiative as a step toward standardizing examinations and promoting a more merit-based evaluation system in Punjab.
