Punjab Govt Restricts Foreign Leave for Doctors Without CM’s Approval
The move aims to centralize decision-making and ensure better oversight of government medical staff during their service.
LAHORE: The Punjab government has issued new directives barring the heads of all government hospitals from independently approving leave for doctors intending to travel abroad.
According to a notification released by the Punjab Health Department, doctors must now submit leave applications at least one month in advance for any overseas travel. These requests will require prior approval from the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Under the revised policy, hospital administrators, medical superintendents, and principals are no longer authorized to grant or forward such leave applications without following the official procedure.
The move aims to centralize decision-making and ensure better oversight of government medical staff during their service.
