Punjab Expands Field Hospitals and Clinics on Wheels Program
CM Punjab announced that 200 primary health centers will begin offering 24-hour services by next year.
Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has announced the expansion of the Field Hospitals and Clinics on Wheels program, aiming to enhance healthcare accessibility across the province.
During a meeting with MPA Saeed Akbar Khan Nawani, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz discussed ongoing development projects and explored suggestions to address public issues. Nawani congratulated the Chief Minister on completing 100 days of public service and praised the success of the Field Hospitals and Clinics on Wheels initiative.
Chief Minister Nawaz revealed that the scope of these mobile healthcare units would be significantly expanded, with 500 additional field hospitals planned. “We are realizing the dream of bringing health reforms and facilities to the doorsteps of the people,” she stated.
Furthermore, she announced that 200 primary health centers will begin offering 24-hour services by next year. Specialist doctors, including anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and cardiologists, will visit remote hospitals weekly. Thalassemia centers will be established in district headquarters hospitals and linked with regional blood centers to enhance treatment accessibility.

MPA Nawani lauded the Punjab government’s four-month performance, noting that its initiatives are receiving widespread appreciation from the public. “Your dynamic leadership ensures the swift completion of projects, setting a benchmark for other provinces,” he added.
