Punjab denies extension of school holidays amid crisis
No decision yet on extending school holidays, says Punjab minister
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – An important statement has been made by the Punjab Education Minister regarding the increase in school holidays under the Prime Minister’s austerity campaign.
To deal with the energy crisis caused by the Iran war and tensions in the Middle East, holidays have been announced in schools across the country from March 16 to March 31 as part of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s austerity campaign.
Later, news of the increase in school holidays came to light, on which Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat clarified that no decision has been taken to extend school holidays so far.
Punjab govt proposes measures to tackle energy crisis
He strongly urged the public not to fall prey to false information spread on social media. The news of the increase in school holidays is baseless and the government has not approved any decision in this regard yet.
The Punjab Education Minister asked parents not to believe the news circulating on social media until it is confirmed by authentic government channels.
It should be noted that news also emerged yesterday that the Punjab government is considering several proposals under the Prime Minister’s austerity plan, including a proposal to extend school holidays until April 15.
