Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz to Seek Urgent Medical Treatment in Geneva
Lahore-(Staff Reporter): Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, in a press briefing on Wednesday, informed the public about Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s health issues, revealing that her condition worsened on Monday night.
Aurangzeb explained that Nawaz, who underwent thyroid surgery last year, has been experiencing complications linked to that procedure. “Maryam Nawaz has been actively working for the past eight months but was admitted to the hospital after her health declined,” Aurangzeb stated.
Due to her condition, Maryam Nawaz will be traveling to Geneva later tonight for urgent medical care under the supervision of her surgeon based in the city. Aurangzeb added that the CM’s doctor recommended immediate treatment, prompting her swift departure.
Nawaz is expected to return to Pakistan by November 12. Despite her health setback, she will continue working remotely from Geneva, staying engaged with provincial matters. “She will be holding meetings and remaining informed on essential issues. Even late at night, she has been receiving updates from the DC and IG on Punjab’s situation,” Aurangzeb assured the public.
