CM Maryam Nawaz Orders Action on Jinnah Hospital Mismanagement

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz made a surprise visit to Jinnah Hospital in Lahore, uncovering several administrative shortcomings. The visit came after multiple complaints from patients and their attendants regarding the unavailability of free medicines and essential medical tests.

During her inspection, the CM discovered that while medicines were in stock, patients in the emergency ward were being denied access to them. Expressing strong displeasure over the mismanagement, she ordered the immediate suspension of the hospital’s principal and medical superintendent (MS).

In the emergency ward, Maryam Nawaz interacted with patients and their families, inquiring about the availability of medicines and tests. Many patients expressed frustration, revealing that they were forced to buy medicines from outside, despite hospital policies ensuring free medication.
