Punjab CM approves Rs100b interest-free loans for wheat farmers

The meeting agreed on the proposal to provide interest-free loans of Rs100 billion before wheat cultivation. 

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz sought a comprehensive plan to support wheat farmers and increase production, here on Saturday.

Chairing a special meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz ordered steps to reduce cost of agricultural inputs before wheat sowing.

Punjab Chief Minister has directed to ensure ample availability of fertilizer before wheat sowing and to provide targeted subsidy to small wheat farmers for relief.

The meeting agreed on the proposal to provide interest-free loans of Rs100 billion before wheat cultivation.

Maryam Nawaz said that wheat farmers will not be left alone, the government will provide full support. She said Punjab farmers have the most facilities and government support.
