Big changes are coming to the Punjab Assembly! The Speaker has announced that Standing Committees will now have the power to make independent decisions on public petitions, streamlining processes and boosting efficiency. This move is expected to speed up the resolution of public concerns and make the assembly more responsive to citizen needs.

Members will be permitted to speak in any language, in addition to Urdu and English, and the process for questions and answers will be implemented more timely.
Big changes are coming to the Punjab Assembly’s budget process. The annual budget discussions will now span five months, up from four, allowing for more thorough deliberations. What’s more, Standing Committees will have the flexibility to hold open hearings, pending approval, bringing greater transparency to the process.
