Punjab Announces Bad News for 11,000 Teachers
Reports indicate that all permanent headmaster and headmistress positions have been blocked for teachers.
The Punjab government has decided not to promote 11,000 teachers currently serving in public schools as regular school heads, according to official sources.
Reports indicate that all permanent headmaster and headmistress positions have been blocked for teachers. Even dozens of teachers and educators who passed the merit-based tests have yet to be appointed to head positions.
According to the School Education Department, teachers cannot be granted Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) powers, which are necessary for managing school funds, until amendments are made to the existing rules and regulations.
