PTI’s Sanam Javed and Husband Arrested in Terrorism Cases

Authorities stated that Sanam Javed and her husband are facing terrorism charges related to the May 9 events.

LAHORE — Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker Sanam Javed and her husband have been arrested, with both facing terrorism charges.

According to reports, PTI leader Sanam Javed and her husband were detained from Green Town. Police officials confirmed that the couple was arrested in connection with the May 9 riots and incidents of arson.

Authorities stated that Sanam Javed and her husband are facing terrorism charges related to the May 9 events.

It is worth noting that last year, a two-member bench led by Justice Asjad Javed Ghural had heard a case involving Sanam Javed related to incidents on May 9 in Gujranwala and had ordered her discharge from the case.

Sanam Javed was initially arrested in Lahore, and multiple cases were registered against her in various cities related to the May 9 incidents. After her release, she was re-arrested.

Later, the Islamabad High Court intervened, halting her handover to the Quetta police, calling the relevant authorities, and after completing the hearing, ordered her release.
