PTI under fire for uncalled for criticism of Punjab CM
Imran Khan should have been arrested on May 25 last year: Sanaullah
LONDON-Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz has lashed out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership over uncalled-for criticism of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for appointing an opposition nominee as the chief minister of Punjab.
In reply to a query Monday, Maryam Nawaz rubbished the PTI leadership’s remarks about the ECP decision.
“Their bemoaning has begun… They have objections to the ECP decision. “Let Farah Gogi be appointed as caretaker CM as she has experience of running Punjab,” she said sarcastically.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah took a swipe at the PTI for objecting to the ECP decision, saying the PTI wanted a person like Usman Buzdar as Punjab CM so that Punjab province could be ruined.
He heaped praise on Mohsin Naqvi for being upright and impartial
“Imran Khan doesn’t like Chief Election Commissioner and those who object to his agenda. He is a cancer that has been plaguing national politics. He will not let the nation grow under a sustainable political setup.”
Mohsin Naqvi was sworn in as the chief minister of Punjab after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) unanimously decided to appoint him to the post.
The electoral authority’s decision comes after the failure of the government and the opposition to reach a consensus on the caretaker chief executive.
Earlier, the matter was referred to the speaker after the opposition leader and the interim chief minister could not reach a consensus on posting the caretaker CM. The Punjab Assembly stood dissolved on January 14.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Monday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan should have been arrested on May 25 last year, Dunya News reported.
Talking exclusively to Dunya News in London, Rana Sanaullah said that I had requested the cabinet to allow me to arrest the PTI chief which was denied. He said that there are solid evidences of corruption against Imran Khan and the decision to arrest him has to be taken by the institutions.
Rana Sanaullah said that Imran Khan was spreading a false narrative by portraying himself as a savior by trapping the country in a quagmire of problems.
Talking about Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan, Rana Sanaullah said that he will reach Pakistan before the elections. He said that Nawaz Sharif himself will announce the date of his return to Pakistan.
Replying to a question, he said that Maryam Nawaz has proved that she is worthy of the post of chief organizer of the party. The minister said that Maryam Nawaz will depart for Dubai on January 27 and arrive in Lahore on the 28th.
