PTI Took Initiative for Talks Despite Challenges: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan
]Govt Should Have Offered Parliamentary Committee to PTI: Gohar
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan stated that despite facing numerous challenges, PTI proactively sought negotiations with the government.
Speaking to the media outside Islamabad’s court, Barrister Gohar explained that PTI had submitted its demands to the government, but the response was delayed. He criticized the government for taking too long to address PTI’s concerns, saying, “If the government was serious, it would have responded immediately. Instead, they said they would respond on January 28 in a committee room.”
He further revealed that PTI had proposed the formation of a judicial commission to investigate incidents from May 9 and November 26, but the government failed to act on this proposal. “The government never intended for the negotiations to succeed,” he said. Despite the difficulties PTI had been facing, Gohar emphasized that Imran Khan remained committed to dialogue.
Barrister Gohar also commented that if the government truly wanted to form a parliamentary committee instead of a judicial commission, it should have made the offer directly to PTI.
