Islamabad: National Assembly Opposition Leader Omar Ayub confirmed on Thursday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had submitted a detailed dossier and a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission. The communication, addressed to the IMF delegation, raised serious concerns regarding governance, rule of law, and transparency in Pakistan.
During his statement, Ayub explained that the letter, which was accompanied by the dossier, had been forwarded to the IMF mission and included a report from the Petten organization along with a covering letter. He pointed out that the letter highlighted significant issues such as human rights violations and alleged electoral rigging in the country.
The dossier specifically focused on the incidents of November 26 and May 9, drawing attention to the treatment of political prisoners and the founder of PTI. Ayub also mentioned that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and party member Ali Zafar were scheduled to meet the IMF mission separately to present all relevant facts regarding these issues.

Ayub recalled that two years ago, PTI founder Imran Khan had met with an IMF delegation, where he had stressed the need for transparent elections, which he claimed had not been held in Pakistan.
The move by PTI reflects the party’s ongoing concerns about the political and legal landscape in the country, as it continues to seek international attention to address these matters.
