PTI Seeks Immediate Opposition Leader Appointment in Senate

ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – PTI has written a letter to the Senate Chairman again. This letter has been sent by PTI’s parliamentary leader in the Senate, Ali Zafar.

The letter states that PTI has nominated Senator Raja Nasir Abbas as the Leader of the Opposition and the non-appointment of the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate is against constitutional and democratic traditions.
According to PTI, the House is institutionally incomplete without the Leader of the Opposition and the process of oversight and accountability is being negatively affected. The party demanded immediate appointment under the Senate Rules 2012, saying that the delay in appointing the Leader of the Opposition is weakening democratic values.
