PTI Picks Irfan Saleem for KP Senate By-Election as Polling Set for April 23
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf – (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has officially chosen Irfan Saleem as its candidate for the upcoming Senate by-election from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The decision came after PTI’s Parliamentary Board held a dedicated meeting to review and finalise a suitable nominee for the vacant Senate seat.
The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi, acting on the instructions of PTI’s provincial president Junaid Akbar Khan. Board members carefully went through the list of applicants before reaching a consensus.
After thorough and thoughtful discussions, the board unanimously agreed on Irfan Saleem, also appreciating the efforts and sacrifices of all other candidates who put themselves forward for consideration.
In addition, Sajjad Mohmand has been named as the covering candidate, with Ghulam Badshah Bhittani and Sardar Khan also included as potential backup nominees, as per the official notification issued by the party.
The party leadership emphasized loyalty and commitment to the vision of Imran Khan as key considerations in the selection process.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the schedule for the by-election on the vacant general Senate seat from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The seat fell vacant following the disqualification of former federal minister and PTI leader Murad Saeed.
According to the ECP, polling will take place on April 23 in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. Candidates can submit their nomination papers on April 6 and 7, while scrutiny will be completed by April 10.
