PTI Offers Conditional Delay to Planned Protest After Government Warning
Islamabad transformed into a "container city" to prevent the October 4 protest.
In response to a government warning regarding their planned protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has proposed a conditional offer to delay the demonstration.
To avert the protest ahead of October 4, the government has turned Islamabad into a “container city,” arresting over 400 people. Major highways connecting Islamabad and Lahore, as well as routes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, have also been shut down.
Zain Qureshi, son of PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, discussed the offer to postpone the protest during an appearance on a private TV channel. According to Qureshi, the PTI is willing to delay its rallies and sit-ins if the government agrees to push back the 26th constitutional amendment until after October 23.
