PTI Lawmakers Arrested Over Islamabad Red Zone Violence

The suspects are facing charges under 11 legal sections

Islamabad: (Web Desk) – Police at Secretariat Police Station have arrested two MNAs and four MPAs in connection with recent violence in the Red Zone of the capital. The arrested lawmakers include MNAs Shafqat Awan and Umar Aslam, along with MPAs Raft Shah, Sarfraz Dogar, Malik Asad, and Tayyab Rasheed.

The suspects are facing charges under 11 legal sections, including terrorism and attempted murder. They are accused of rioting, firing at police officers, snatching weapons, issuing serious threats, and causing damage to government vehicles.

Police stated that the suspects created an atmosphere of fear and intimidation during the incident, prompting the filing of a comprehensive case against them. The arrests are part of ongoing measures to restore law and order in the Red Zone.
