PTI Granted Conditional Approval for Rally at Minar-e-Pakistan

A meeting between the district administration and district intelligence on Friday concluded with a decision to grant conditional permission for the PTI rally, pending police assessments. This approval, along with a no-objection certificate (NOC), is expected to be submitted to the Lahore High Court within the hour.

The notification is anticipated to include 40 clauses, and the administration is also contemplating a change in the rally’s venue.

Earlier in the day, the Lahore High Court directed the city’s deputy commissioner to make a decision by 5 PM regarding PTI’s petitions for rally permission scheduled for Saturday.

A three-member bench, led by LHC Chief Justice Aalia Neelum, had taken up the petitions the previous day and required the presence of senior officials, including the Punjab chief secretary, police chief, commissioner, deputy commissioner, and advocate general.

PTI has launched a mass contact campaign to rally support for the event at Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. Petitions for the gathering were filed by PTI leaders such as former MNA Aalia Hamza Malik, MPA Imtiaz Mahmood Sheikh, and Lahore Vice President Akmal Khan Bari.

On Friday, the bench, which included Justices Tariq Nadeem and Ali Zia Bajwa, resumed hearings on these petitions, instructing Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza to reach a decision by 5 PM.
