PTI founder declared ‘certified culprit’, says Iqbal
Islamabad – Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, following a court ruling that declared him a “certified culprit.” Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Iqbal criticized Khan and his party for their alleged corruption, asserting that those who once accused others of corruption were now exposed as “the biggest thieves in the country’s history.”
Iqbal, pointing to Khan’s alleged misdeeds, stated, “This corrupt person has plundered the national wealth worth Rs64 billion.” He also took aim at PTI’s defense of corruption, claiming that it had been masked by references to Seeratun Nabi and claims of honesty.
In a related development, Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmad Khan also weighed in on the matter, commenting on a major £190 million corruption scandal involving the PTI leadership. Khan described the case as “open-and-shut,” citing strong evidence and the involvement of UK law enforcement agencies.
“The UK institutions had stopped the suspected transaction and handed over the recovered money to the government of Pakistan,” Khan confirmed, underscoring the gravity of the allegations against Imran Khan and his party members.
