PTI Congratulates Trump on 2024 U.S. Election Victory
US-(Special Correspondent): The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has extended congratulations to Donald Trump following his declared victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. presidential election.
U.S. media has projected Trump with 277 electoral votes, as he celebrated in Palm Beach, Florida, attracting global attention.
Through its official X account, PTI congratulated Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance, stating, “The people have spoken, and their mandate has been honored—unlike Pakistan, where the public’s voice was disregarded.”
“Congratulations to President-Elect Donald Trump and Vice President-Elect, on their U.S. election victory. The people’s choice has been respected in a way that starkly contrasts with the situation in Pakistan,” the PTI post emphasized.
Former President Arif Alvi also sent a congratulatory letter to Trump, referencing a previous letter in July condemning the assassination attempt on him. “Free and fair elections have empowered American citizens to realize their aspirations through your leadership,” Alvi wrote.
He further noted that PTI looks forward to strengthened cooperation between both nations, adding, “Your victory is bound to unsettle dictators and those with authoritarian ambitions around the world.”
Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan also congratulated Trump and Vance, expressing optimism that the new administration will work to enhance U.S.-Pakistan relations. “We hope this team will build stronger ties between the people of Pakistan and the United States,” Ayub stated.
PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari shared similar sentiments, highlighting Trump’s potential to address global conflicts and injustices, including issues impacting Pakistan.
“On behalf of Imran Khan and PTI, congratulations to President-elect @realDonaldTrump and VP @JDVance on a remarkable comeback, achieving victory against significant challenges. This outcome is a powerful message from those who felt ignored and a call for meaningful change and economic stability,” Bukhari said.
As Khan’s adviser on international affairs, Bukhari emphasized Trump’s focus on peace and economic growth, expressing hopes that this new term will bring decisive steps toward resolving critical global issues, especially the Gaza conflict. “We hope this chapter fosters unity and healing, bringing people together across divides to create a more peaceful and prosperous world,” he added.
