PTI Ban Imminent: Govt Takes Principled Decision
Islamabad(Staff Reporter);PTI Ban Imminent: Govt Takes Principled Decision, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to banning the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stating that the decision is “principled” and will be carried out after necessary consultations and legal preparations.
Speaking on Geo News’ “Capital Talk” on Tuesday, Tarar revealed that the government has already consulted with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) regarding the ban and is currently in talks with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P).
The Information Minister emphasized that the decision to ban PTI has garnered strong public support, citing the party’s involvement in the May 9 events and attempts to sabotage Pakistan’s deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as reasons for the ban.
Tarar’s statement comes as the government prepares to take formal action against PTI, with treason cases expected to be filed under Article 6 of the Constitution against key party leaders, including Imran Khan, Arif Alvi, and Qasim Suri.
