ISLAMABAD: Asking the PTI workers to control their emotions, party Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Monday that the workers should rest assured that all possible efforts were being made to secure the release of the party founder and the former prime minister, Imran Khan.
Speaking to reporters at the Islamabad High Court (IHC), he said he was hopeful that the case of the suspension of Imran’s sentence would be fixed for the hearing before Eidul Azha.
“We respect the sentiments of the PTI workers. They have every right to ask about the party founder’s release,” Barrister Gohar said, adding, “None can ever justify the imprisonment of Imran for the last two years.”
The PTI chairman further said that the party held sit-ins and protest demonstrations for the former prime minister’s release. “And we are pressing for his release through our speeches in the parliament.”
