PTA Urges Public to Report Anti-State Content Online

The authority reminded citizens that under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA)

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has called on the public to report any anti-state content found on social media or the internet to both the relevant platforms and the PTA itself for prompt removal or blocking.

In an official statement, the PTA emphasized that content targeting the defence, integrity, or security of Pakistan is a serious concern and should be immediately reported to the National Counter-Terrorism and Cybersecurity Intelligence Agency (NCCIA) as well as the PTA.

The authority reminded citizens that under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), the online dissemination of such material is illegal and punishable by law.

The PTA reiterated its commitment to ensuring the digital safety of Pakistan and encouraged users to stay vigilant and report any harmful or anti-state content they come across on the internet or social media platforms.
