PSL upholds Fakhar Zaman’s two-match suspension ruling

Fakhar Zaman Loses Appeal as PSL Committee Stands Firm on Two Match Ban

PSL – (Web Desk) – Fakhar Zaman will miss two PSL matches. The Pakistan Super League Technical Committee rejected his appeal on Wednesday. His suspension remains in place.

Fakhar had tried to fight the ban. He challenged the decision made by match referee Roshan Mahanama. The referee had penalised him for breaking the rules during the Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings game on March 29 at Gaddafi Stadium.

A three member committee heard his case. It included Professor Javed Malik, Dr Mumraiz Naqshband and Syed Ali Naqi. They looked at all the evidence carefully. Both sides got a chance to speak.

In the end the committee was not convinced. They dismissed the appeal and kept the original punishment. Fakhar will now serve his two match ban.

According to the Code of Conduct, Article 2.14 pertains to altering the condition of the ball in violation of clause 41.3 of the HBL PSL Playing Conditions. The offence falls under a Level 3 breach, which carries a minimum penalty of a one-match ban and a maximum of a two-match suspension for a first-time violation.

Under PSL regulations, the decision of the Technical Committee is final and binding on all parties, leaving no further avenue for appeal.
