PSL Confirms Diamond and Gold Retentions Ahead of February Auction
ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) – : The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has renewed contracts for 11 players in the Diamond category and 31 players in the Gold category ahead of its landmark 11th season player auction, scheduled for February 11, 2026. The tournament will begin on March 26.
In the Diamond category, Karachi Kings retained Abbas Afridi and Shan Masood, while Lahore Qalandars held on to Abdullah Shafiq and Mohammad Salman Mirza. Peshawar Zalmi confirmed Sufyan Muqeem, Multan Sultans retained Osama Mir, Iftikhar Ahmed and Usman Khan, and Quetta Gladiators secured Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Wasim Jr and Usman Tariq.
The Diamond category represents the highest tier of player retention, allowing franchises to lock in marquee players ahead of the auction.
In the Gold category, Islamabad United retained Azam Khan, Haider Ali, Salman Arshad and Roman Raees. Lahore Qalandars kept Zaman Khan, Jahandad Khan, Asif Ali and Asif Afridi.
PSL 11 Announces Silver, Emerging Retentions Ahead Auction
Karachi Kings renewed contracts with Khushdil Shah, Aamer Jamal, Irfan Khan Niazi, Mir Hamza, Zahid Mahmood, Umair Bin Yousuf, Shahnawaz Dahani and Irfan Minhas.
Multan Sultans retained Kamran Ghulam, Mohammad Hasnain, Faisal Akram and Akif Javed. Peshawar Zalmi confirmed Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Ali, Abdul Samad, Hussain Talat, Sufyan Muqeem, Ahmed Daniyal and Ehsanullah, while Quetta Gladiators retained Khurram Shehzad, Haseebullah Khawaja, Mohammad Nafay and Hasan Nawaz.
PSL 11 will be the first season to feature a player auction system, replacing the traditional draft format.
