PSL 2025 Draft: Date and order of picks announced

The draft is expected to feature a host of international stars, including renowned players like Steve Smith, David Warner, and Kane Williamson.

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set for an exciting 2025 draft, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announcing key details for the event. The draft ceremony will take place in the first week of January at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, with the ceremony beginning at 5 PM and player selections commencing at 6 PM.

This year’s draft marks a significant venue change from the National Cricket Academy, where the previous draft was held. Six franchises will participate in the 2025 PSL, with each team announcing their player retentions prior to the draft. Fans can follow live updates and watch the draft on PSL’s official YouTube channel.

The draft is expected to feature a host of international stars, including renowned players like Steve Smith, David Warner, and Kane Williamson. However, players under red-ball contracts with the England Cricket Board (ECB), such as Jason Roy, will be excluded from the draft, following a recent ECB decision.

The selection process will allow teams to choose players from various categories, including Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging players. Multan Sultans will have the first pick in the draft, giving them a significant advantage in building their squad for the upcoming season.
