Shaheen Afridi Confident as Qalandars Chase PSL 10 Glory
Lahore – May 25, 2025: In the grand finale of the 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators set a challenging target of 202 runs for Lahore Qalandars at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium.
After winning the toss, Quetta Gladiators’ captain Saud Shakeel elected to bat first. His decision paid off as the team posted a strong total of 201 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to explosive batting performances from Hassan Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf.
Speaking at the toss, Saud Shakeel expressed confidence in his team, noting that the rest period before the final had helped them recharge. “We aim to post a big score against Lahore’s strong bowling attack and treat this like any other match — no pressure,” he said. He also confirmed one change in the lineup, with Khurram Shehzad replacing Mohammad Wasim, who was unwell.
Lahore Qalandars’ skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi, on the other hand, said his side had been playing consistent cricket and would look to maintain their form in the final. “Everyone in the team knows their role. We’re ready to give our best,” he remarked. The Qalandars made one change, with Sikandar Raza returning to the playing XI in place of Shakib Al Hasan.
