PSB Imposes Strict Measures to Curb Age Fraud in Under-21 Sports Events

The PSB’s proactive approach marks a significant step towards cleaner, safer, and fairer youth sports in Pakistan.

ISLAMABAD: In a major move to ensure transparency, fairness, and safety in youth sports, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has implemented stringent new rules targeting age fraud in athletic events involving players under the age of 21, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.

According to a formal notification issued by the PSB, all junior athletes participating in PSB-organized events must now submit a verified B-Form, CNIC, and complete medical examination reports — including dental and radiological tests — to confirm their age authenticity.

The PSB has officially classified age tampering as a clear violation of its code of ethics. Any athlete found guilty of submitting false or misleading documents will face immediate disqualification from training camps and future events. In addition, such individuals will be declared ineligible for financial aid or cash rewards, and may face further disciplinary actions.

The notification further states that all documents submitted by players must be verified and attested by the president and secretary general of their respective sports federations. Any discrepancies or forged documents will lead to immediate exclusion from the competition and possible punitive action.

The PSB emphasized that age fraud not only distorts fair competition but also risks the health and safety of younger athletes by placing them against physically more developed players. It also deprives deserving athletes of the opportunity to compete at national and international levels.

This initiative has received backing from the International Olympic Association (IOA) and other global sports bodies that have consistently called for strong enforcement against age manipulation in sports to protect integrity and transparency.
