Islamabad – The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has taken firm action against the unauthorized use of the name “Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation” by an unrecognized entity led by Tariq Pervaiz. In a strongly worded advisory issued today, the PSB has directed all federal and provincial sports institutions, departments, and relevant stakeholders to disregard any correspondence, decisions, or statements issued by Tariq Pervaiz or his self-styled federation.

The advisory, based on the Constitution of the Pakistan Sports Board (2022) approved by the Federal Cabinet, makes it clear that only those federations formally affiliated with the PSB can be considered legitimate National Sports Federations (NSFs). Only these recognized bodies are authorized to use the term “Pakistan” and to represent the country in international competitions.

The PSB stated that Tariq Pervaiz has been falsely presenting himself as the President of the “Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation” without any formal recognition or affiliation. The use of the national title by an unauthorized individual constitutes a serious breach of legal and constitutional norms governing sports in the country.

“All institutions and departments are hereby instructed to reject any activities, decisions, or notifications issued by Tariq Pervaiz,” the letter reads, warning that violations of the PSB Constitution and misuse of the national title will lead to legal consequences.

The advisory has been circulated to major stakeholders including the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Railways, WAPDA, Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force), Police, the Services Sports Control Board, and provincial sports boards of all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Islamabad.

Speaking on the matter, PSB spokesperson Khurram Shehzad reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to transparency and lawful governance in the sports sector. “We will not tolerate any unlawful claims or misleading activities. The PSB stands firm in protecting the integrity of Pakistan’s national sports institutions,” he said.

This move marks a significant step in the PSB’s ongoing efforts to uphold discipline, order, and authenticity within the country’s sports ecosystem.
