PSB Announces PKR 8.2 Million Cash Reward for U-16 Volleyball Team’s Historic Asian Championship Win

The total reward pool for the team and coach amounts to PKR 8.2 million, which will be disbursed in the coming days.

 

Islamabad (Mudassar Chaudhary) -The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced a cash reward of PKR 8.2 million for the national Under-16 volleyball team and coaching staff following their historic victory in the Asian U-16 Volleyball Championship, where Pakistan defeated Iran 3-2 in a thrilling final.

According to a PSB spokesperson, each player of the 12-member squad will receive PKR 600,000 under the Cash Award Policy 2024, which allocates 30% of the team award to each gold-medalist athlete in continental-level team events. This brings the total player reward to PKR 7.2 million.

In addition, the policy allocates 50% of the team award for coaching staff, with the team’s head coach set to receive PKR 1 million. The total reward pool for the team and coach amounts to PKR 8.2 million, which will be disbursed in the coming days.

The spokesperson further highlighted that Pakistan remained undefeated throughout the tournament, culminating in a dramatic final win over traditional powerhouse Iran. The victory marks a major milestone for Pakistan’s youth volleyball development.

The PSB reiterated that these cash incentives are part of a broader policy aimed at encouraging young talent and providing financial support to athletes across all age groups.

Only those players and coaches listed on the tournament’s official squad list will be eligible for the cash rewards, and complete documentation will be required to claim the awards.
