Protesters Block Karakoram Highway, Demand Fair Wheat Distribution in GB
Protest of Ulma successful,provincial government has issued a notification for fair distribution of wheat;

In the town of Chilas of Diamar district, under the leadership of Ulama Diamar, the KKK Road was closed for all types of traffic. Ulema Ikram says that fair distribution of wheat in all districts of Gilgit-Baltistan should be done according to 2023 census. People belonging to Diamar from all walks of life participated in the protest.
Addressing the participants of the protest sit-in, Ulema Youth Council chief Maulana Abdul Malik said that fair distribution of wheat is the urgent need of the hour. As per the 2023 census, the process of inter-district distribution should be ensured.
On the other hand, the head of Ulema Council Diamar said that the question of ending the sit-in does not arise until the formal notification of fair distribution.
Addressing the participants of the sit-in, all the scholars and elders said that we declare our full support to the Gilgit-Baltistan People’s Action Committee.
After sitting on the road for 6 hours continuously, the sit-in was postponed at 9 am due to cold weather. After nine o’clock in the morning, the negotiation committee will continue to be present at the sit-in site and the road block will remain.
