Private Jet Crashes During Takeoff at Bangor Airport Maine
MAINE: (Web Desk) – A private passenger aircraft crashed during takeoff at Bangor International Airport in the US state of Maine, authorities confirmed.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the accident occurred at approximately 7:45 p.m. on January 25. There were eight people on board the aircraft at the time of the incident.
The FAA stated that the aircraft involved was a Bombardier Challenger 600, which crashed while attempting to take off. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined.
The investigation is being conducted jointly by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), with assistance from the Maine State Police and local authorities.

In a statement shared on social media, Bangor International Airport confirmed that an incident had occurred at the airport and that investigations are ongoing. Emergency and rescue teams were present at the scene, assessing the situation. Following the crash, the runway was closed, and the public was advised to avoid traveling to the airport.
According to Reuters, a government official said that a severe fire broke out on the aircraft after the crash. Authorities further stated that the jet had arrived in Maine from Texas and was preparing for departure when the accident occurred.
Flight-tracking website Flightradar24 also confirmed the incident, noting that available data showed the aircraft had arrived in Bangor from Houston and was attempting to depart again at the time of the crash.
Bangor International Airport is a joint civilian and military public airport located approximately 129 miles northeast of Portland, Maine, and operates with a single runway.
