Prime Minister postpones cabinet’s key strategy meeting by one day
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chairs rescheduled cabinet meeting Tuesday to address protests, regional tensions, and national security concerns.
Islamabad – (Web Desk) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will now lead an important federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday instead of Monday. The session aims to review and finalize strategies in response to the recent violent protests across several cities, especially Karachi and Islamabad.
Originally scheduled for Monday morning before the Majlis-e-Shura session at 9:30 am, the meeting has been rescheduled to 9:30 am on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
The cabinet is expected to carefully examine the rising regional tensions and the volatile situation, including the ongoing US-Israel strikes on Iran. National security matters will also be a key focus, with discussions covering internal security challenges and developments related to Afghanistan.
In addition, the federal cabinet will be briefed on the recent violent protests directed against the United States. Security dimensions of the demonstrations and the government’s future course of action will be considered as part of broader deliberations.
Islamabad Roads Reopen as Situation Returns Normal
The sources said the meeting will be briefed about the Pak-Afghan war and Taliban’s terror attacks in the country.
Sources indicated that key decisions are likely to emerge from the cabinet session. An official statement outlining the outcomes of the meeting is expected to be issued afterward.
