Shehbaz Sharif Meets KP Chief Minister Afridi
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday held his first formal meeting with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi at the Prime Minister’s House, following Afridi’s assumption of office. The meeting, reported by 24NewsHD, saw the Prime Minister welcoming the KP chief minister, with Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah and Federal Minister Engineer Ameer Muqam also in attendance.
Sources said the discussions primarily focused on the law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly the persistent threat of terrorism in the province. Chief Minister Afridi briefed the Prime Minister on security challenges and operational needs of the provincial authorities. The ongoing security operation in Tirah Valley, as well as the evacuation and welfare of affected local residents, was also reviewed.

The engagement comes after earlier reports that Afridi had previously declined to visit the Prime Minister’s House. Political analysts view this meeting as a positive step toward stronger coordination between federal and provincial governments on security and counter-terrorism matters.
