LAHORE – Solar panel prices in Pakistan have seen a significant increase, impacting both domestic and commercial users. The rise in prices of on-grid solar systems comes just months before the start of the summer season, which typically sees a sharp rise in electricity consumption.
According to reports, the price of solar panels has surged by Rs4 to Rs5 per watt in the local market. This price hike has led to an increase in the overall cost of installing solar systems, with additional costs ranging from Rs35,000 to Rs175,000 depending on the system’s capacity.
Updated Solar System Prices
The prices of solar systems vary according to their capacity. A 5 kW solar system is now priced at Rs550,000, while a 7 kW system costs Rs625,000. Similarly, the cost of a 10 kW system is Rs850,000, a 12 kW system is priced at Rs975,000, and a 15 kW system is available for Rs1,150,000.
It’s important to note that these prices are for on-grid systems. For hybrid systems, customers will need to pay additional costs for batteries.
As various companies offer solar panels and systems in Pakistan, prices may vary, but this surge has raised concerns for potential customers who were hoping to take advantage of solar energy solutions as an alternative to rising electricity bills.
