President Zardari Summons Separate National Assembly and Senate Sessions on October 17
Senate session to be held at 3:00 pm; National Assembly session scheduled for 4:00 pm
President Asif Ali Zardari has convened separate sessions of the National Assembly and Senate on October 17.
According to a press release from the President’s Secretariat Press Wing, the National Assembly will meet on Thursday, October 17, at 4:00 pm, while the Senate session is set for earlier that day at 3:00 pm.
President Zardari called both sessions in accordance with Article 54 (1) of Pakistan’s Constitution.
There are speculations that the government intends to introduce the 26th constitutional amendment in parliament, with plans to have it passed before the retirement of Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa on October 25.
