Pakistan's president strengthens ties with Qatar and China during a key world summit in Doha.
Doha – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – In Doha, President Asif Ali Zardari met with Qatar’s leader, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani. During their meeting, President Zardari proposed increasing teamwork between Pakistan and Qatar, especially in defense and making military equipment. The Qatari Emir welcomed this idea and agreed to start talks on the matter right away. He also expressed his approval of a recent defense agreement signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
This important discussion happened while President Zardari was attending the Second World Summit for Social Development. Earlier at the same event, the Pakistani leader also held talks with China’s Vice President, Han Zheng. The Chinese official praised Pakistan’s strong efforts in fighting terrorism and working for peace in the region.
During his conversation with the Chinese leader, President Zardari remembered his recent trip to China. He described the two nations as “iron brothers” and the closest of partners. He thanked China for its steady support to Pakistan through difficult times. The president also highlighted the success of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, which is now moving into a new stage of growth.

In response, Vice President Han Zheng confirmed the lasting strength of the friendship between China and Pakistan. He promised that China would continue to help Pakistan’s economy, focusing on areas like roads, technology, farming, and job training. Both leaders agreed to keep working closely together on shared goals for regional peace and progress. President Zardari was joined at the meeting by his children, Bilawal and Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari.
