President, Prime Minister Undertook Multiple Foreign Visits During the Year

In 2025, the prime minister visited Saudi Arabia four times and Azerbaijan four times.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif undertook approximately 28 foreign visits during the year, with Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan being his most frequently visited destinations, according to diplomatic sources.

In 2025, the prime minister visited Saudi Arabia four times and Azerbaijan four times. He made three visits to the United Kingdom, including two private and one official trip. He also visited Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and the United States twice each. During the year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif made one visit each to China, Iran, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Belarus, Egypt, Bahrain, and Turkmenistan. His most recent foreign visit this year was to Turkmenistan.

In contrast, President Asif Ali Zardari undertook five official foreign visits during the same period. Of these, two were to China—one in February 2025 and another extended visit in September. In February, the president also visited Lisbon, Portugal. He traveled to Qatar in November and Iraq in December. Additionally, President Zardari made approximately two private visits to the United Arab Emirates during the year.

Diplomatic sources highlighted the significant difference in the number of foreign visits undertaken by the prime minister and the president during 2025.
