Islamabad (Nadeem Choudhri) — Rizwan Taj, President of the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), has moved to shield himself by announcing an inquiry only after a media expose brought the matter to light.
The inquiry, ordered today (September 15), comes more than two months after a meeting on July 7, 2025, in which the Federal Health Minister had explicitly directed the President to conduct the probe and submit a report within 30 days.
The Daily Destination highlighted the issue in its September 13 edition, prompting the belated action.
At the heart of the controversy are allegations against PMDC officials that they concealed the “pass” inspection report of Azra Naheed Dental College from the PMDC Council, the courts, and the college itself and they violated the orders of the Minister regarding RLKU College, where instead of sending an inspection team, a PMDC official conducted the inspection on his own, undermining the orders and damaging the institution’s case.

It is evident that the President’s delayed move suggests an attempt to deflect responsibility rather than ensure accountability, as the inquiry should have been initiated promptly after ministerial instructions in July.
