President Pezeshkian says Iran Has No Intention of Pursuing Nuclear Weapons

Iran-Israel Tensions Escalate: Five Killed in Missile Strikes as Pezeshkian Denounces U.S. and Israeli Actions

TEHRAN: Tensions between Iran and Israel have reached a critical point as Iran launched its largest missile assault to date on Israeli territory, leaving at least five people dead, according to foreign media reports. The attacks have forced Israeli authorities to issue a shelter-in-place directive, urging citizens to remain indoors for safety.

Amid the intensifying conflict, newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian addressed the nation in a televised message, calling for national patience and insisting that Iran does not seek nuclear weapons.

“We urge our people to remain patient during this crisis,” said Pezeshkian. “We do not seek dominance over anyone and are not an aggressive nation.”

He went on to accuse Israel of targeting Muslim countries systematically and strongly criticized the United States for its support of Israel.

“Israel is attacking Muslim states one by one,” Pezeshkian claimed. “By allowing Israeli attacks, the U.S. is engaging in bullying.”

In Israel, daily life has been severely disrupted. The U.S. Ambassador to Israel confirmed that the American embassy will remain closed due to security concerns, and diplomatic staff are taking shelter along with local residents.

This surge in hostilities marks a dangerous escalation in the ongoing regional conflict, with global leaders watching closely as the risk of broader confrontation grows.
