President of Pakistan approves 100-day remission for prisoners on Eid

Government offers 100-day sentence relief on Eid and Pakistan Day

PM – (Web Desk) – The government has announced a special relief for prisoners across the country. President of Pakistan has approved a reduction in sentences under Article 45 of the Constitution. This decision was made on the advice of the Prime Minister.

Under this relief, eligible prisoners will get a 100-day reduction in their sentences. It is being given on the occasions of Eid ul Fitr and Pakistan Day.

Officials also made it clear that not everyone will benefit. Prisoners involved in serious crimes will not be included. This includes people convicted of terrorism, kidnapping, robbery, and rape.

Prisoners convicted in drug-related cases, as well as individuals found guilty of causing losses to the national treasury or involved in financial corruption, will also not be eligible for the sentence reduction.

Officials said the move is aimed at providing relief on national and religious occasions while maintaining strict limits on serious offenders.
