President Asif Ali Zardari Receives Guard of Honour at Aiwan-e-Sadr

Chinese President conveyed warm regards to President Zardari, highlighting the strong bond of friendship and partnership between Pakistan & China.

Islamabad: In a momentous occasion at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad, newly sworn-in President Asif Ali Zardari was presented with a prestigious guard of honour by impeccably dressed contingents of the armed forces on Monday.

President Zardari graciously reviewed the guard of honour as the national anthem resonated through the air, symbolizing a proud moment for the nation.

Following the ceremony, President Zardari extended gestures of goodwill by shaking hands with officers and staffers at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, reflecting camaraderie and unity within the presidential institution.

This significant event unfolded just a day after Asif Ali Zardari took the oath as the 14th President of Pakistan. The oath-taking ceremony, administered by Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, was attended by dignitaries including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the heads of all three service branches.

The auspicious occasion also garnered international recognition, with Presidents of Iran, Turkey, and China extending their heartfelt congratulations to President Zardari on his election.

President Ebrahim Raeesi of Iran expressed optimism for strengthened bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran, emphasizing the historical, cultural, and religious bonds shared between the two nations. He reiterated Iran’s commitment to fostering deeper relations with Pakistan during President Zardari’s tenure.

Similarly, Chinese President Xi Jinping conveyed warm regards to President Zardari, highlighting the strong bond of friendship and partnership between Pakistan and China. President Xi emphasized the importance of the enduring relationship between the two countries as good neighbors, friends, partners, and brothers.
