ISLAMABAD— A strong earthquake hit Bangladesh on Friday morning, causing widespread panic and resulting in at least three deaths and several injuries, according to police and health officials.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the 5.7-magnitude quake struck near Narsingdi at 10:38 a.m. local time, approximately 33 kilometers from the capital, Dhaka.
