Pakistani rupee sheds more value against US dollar,
Karachi_The Pakistani shed more paisas against the US dollar during interbank business on Thursday, reported According to the information collected from forex dealers, the local currency weakened by another 50 paisas against the greenback and was currently being traded at Rs285.90.
On Wednesday, the Pakistani rupee was depreciated by 0.15% in the interbank market and ended the day at Rs285.40, down by 44 paisas.
In a key development, Minister of State for Finance Aisha Ghaus Pasha had reiterated that the way forward for the country is to remain in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme and the Finance Division and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) are constantly engaged with the Fund.
The minister had said that the government has made considerable progress with respect to the IMF programme and does not want to detract.
Experts say the resumption of the IMF programme, which remains stalled since last year, is crucial for the debt-ridden economy.
