Federal, Provincial Leaders Assess Polio Eradication Progress

QUETTA: (Web Desk) – Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication Ayesha Raza Farooq on Wednesday met with the Chief Minister of Balochistan to review the province’s polio situation and assess progress in ongoing eradication efforts. The meeting focused on vaccination coverage, operational challenges, and strategies being implemented to curb the spread of the virus across the province.

Earlier, Ayesha Raza Farooq visited Quetta, where she held discussions with provincial authorities at the Balochistan Emergency Operations Centre to evaluate preparedness for upcoming vaccination campaigns. Officials from the National Emergency Operations Centre briefed her on the current polio landscape and logistical planning for future drives.

The meeting was attended by National Coordinator Muhammad Anwar-ul-Haq along with senior health and EOC officials. Ayesha Raza Farooq expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far and commended the efforts of provincial teams. She also reaffirmed the federal government’s full operational support to ensure the successful execution of future polio vaccination campaigns.
