Policeman Arrested for Harassing Woman on Bus in Sargodha

In a separate incident in Bahawalpur’s Yazman area, another individual accused of harassing women was also apprehended.

SARGODHA: A patrolling officer of the Punjab Highway Police has been arrested in Sargodha for allegedly harassing a woman on a passenger bus, according to local police.

The incident occurred near Narowal Chowk, Muridke, where the officer reportedly harassed a female passenger. A video of the incident went viral on social media, sparking public outrage.

Police confirmed the suspect has been taken into custody following the emergence of the footage.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took to social media to share a photo of the accused behind bars, with a firm caption: “Arrested! Zero tolerance for harassment.”

In a separate incident in Bahawalpur’s Yazman area, another individual accused of harassing women was also apprehended.

According to a statement from the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), the suspect attempted to flee upon spotting police officers, but collided with a tree due to high speed and sustained injuries. He was arrested at the scene, and a case has been registered.

Authorities have reiterated that harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and all offenders will face strict legal action.
