Police raid bandit hideouts during Rahim Yar Khan operation

Punjab Police Use Drones to Target Bandit Hideouts in Rahim Yar Khan

Punjab – (Special Correspondent / Web Desk) – Punjab Police announced on Wednesday that several hideouts of bandits in Katcha Ronti, Rahim Yar Khan, were bombed using drones. The operation aimed to rescue people kidnapped by the notorious riverine gangs.

For decades, dangerous bandit groups armed with heavy weapons have operated freely in northern Sindh and southern Punjab. These gangs are involved in daily crimes, including kidnappings for ransom, extortion, brutal murders, and robberies on major highways.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Punjab Police confirmed the drone-assisted strike against dacoit hideouts in Katcha Ronti. The statement added that several criminals were injured during the operation.

Punjab Inspector General of Police, Dr. Usman Anwar, praised the police team, stating that drone technology is being fully utilized not only for helping flood victims but also to eliminate criminal networks.

This major action follows an August 1 attack, when bandits in the Katcha area martyred five police officers at a checkpoint in Rahim Yar Khan. Earlier, in March, three people were shot dead by dacoits in the Jamaldin Wali area near the Indus River, reportedly to avenge the killing of a YouTuber.
